Jersey Boys tells the true-life story of the rise to
stardom of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, one of the most successful bands
in pop music history. The band sold more than 175 million records and were
inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for their worldwide hits including;
Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Walk Like a Man, Bye Bye Baby, Sherry and Big Girls
Don’t Cry, which all feature in the musical.

Boys is a musical biography of the Four Seasons—the rise, the tough times and
personal clashes, and the ultimate triumph of a group of friends whose music
became symbolic of a generation. Far from a mere tribute concert Jersey Boys
gets to the heart of the relationships at the centre of the group—with a
special focus on front man Frankie Valli, the small kid with the big falsetto.
In addition to following the quartet’s coming of age as performers, the core of
the show is how an allegiance to a code of honour learned in the streets of
their native New Jersey got them through a multitude of challenges: gambling
debts, Mafia threats and family disasters. Jersey Boys is a glimpse at the
people behind a sound that has managed to endure for over four decades in the
hearts of the public.

The show has become the twelfth longest running musical in Broadway
history, wrapping in January 2017 after eleven years. It also enjoyed one of
the longest runs for a musical in Sydney history, playing for 15 months and
attracting an audience from both Australia and beyond.
