* For this event there will be coaches collecting passengers from both the Eastern and Western sides of Lake Macquarie. Please note for your group to be seated together on the Coach you would need to select Eastern OR Western pick up points for the entire group.
Join the Kings for their 35th annual Boxing Day Tour. It is a great, relaxing way to spend Boxing Day and experience the action on Sydney Harbour as part of the spectator fleet to view the start of the iconic Sydney to Hobart yacht race.
Kings have continued their partnership with Captain Cook Cruises to provide a four-hour cruise to experience the action and excitement as Australia’s Premier Sailing Event commences. Since the inaugural race in 1945, it has become one of the top three offshore yacht races in the world. Attracting maxi yachts from all around the globe as well as modest yachts which all battle the elements on the race that covers 630 nautical miles (1070km).
7.30am Depart Kings Depot, 11 Concord Street Boolaroo (off Munibung Road Cardiff). Pick up points are available at Cardiff Bowling Club, Charlestown, Belmont North, Belmont, Swansea, Doyalson, Toronto or Morisset by arrangement at the time of booking. 10.15am Board our Captain Cook vessel ready for a 10.30am departure.
Morning tea will be served a short time after boarding. The vessel has both enclosed and open areas so don't forget to take sunscreen and a hat!
Tea and coffee is included in the cost of the cruise and will be available shortly after the vessel departs. There are also drinks and limited snack foods available for purchase from the bar on board. Lunch is not included as Kings have an arrangement with Captain Cook which allows our clients to bring their own food and drink (inc. limited BYO alcohol). This is a great chance to bring some Christmas leftovers and by not including lunch, the vessel has more time to watch the yachts in their pre-race preparation and follow the fleet up the Harbour after the sound of the starter’s gun, all whilst enjoying a professional commentary provided by Captain Cook Cruises staff.
As the yachts leave the heads and continue their journey down the coast towards Tasmania, we return to the wharf at approximately 2.30pm. Upon disembarking you will have time to purchase a late lunch or explore the precinct.
3:30pm Rejoin the coach for return travel to Newcastle
6:15pm Estimated time of return to Kings Depot

NOTE – Small cooler bags and eskies are permitted on the boat, yet large eskies are not permitted on the vessel in order to comply with Captain Cook Cruise Regulations and to assist clients ease of movement around the vessel.
